"Our lively Operations department is generally a hive of activity; although this is not to say that we don't take our position as 'the glue that holds the company together' seriously!

Our role is a lot more varied than simply answering the phones, making coffee and sending out the post. The Operations department manages all invoices and accounts, which essentially ensures that our clients pay us when they should and that we in turn pay our suppliers on time.

We are also responsible for driving Comtec Presentations forward to gain our first ever European Quality Accreditation, which for our clients means that we have the optimal platform to offer the most effective and efficient and competitvely priced products for our clients.

At a time when every penny counts, our clients are very prescriptive about
how we manage the budgets they give us. In Operations we manage process all the internal and external costs on a daily basis per project which enables us at any time to issue real time actual V's budget reports.

Comtec Presentations has a very comprehensive CSR strategy and here in Operations we not only policy the current strategy so that we can issue both internal and external updates but we also spearhead new CSR policies, enabling us to maximize what we give back to the community."

Communication Solutions

Whilst we offer a diverse range of services that cover all elements of marketing communications to clients that are based around the world, the critical success factor is ensuring that we can communicate effectively. To ensure that our client base has access to information at all times, we have created a client specific section of our website, which is pass word protected, that enables access to up to date information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The site has been built to enable multiple level user access so that stakeholders have visibility of information that is pertinent to them. As all information is version controlled, there is never a risk that a party to the event is working on out of date information.

Human Resources

With a turnover rate of less than 3% over the last 10 years, one of Comtec’s strengths is its stability. As our clients come back to us time and time again, the same teams that have looked after them, continue to do so. We understand that when producing a live event, there is no margin for error. Therefore a lot of investment is made in maintaining outstanding relationships with our clients and any third parties. Having a consistent team assigned to each client, facilitates the relationship and builds a mutually beneficial long term partnership.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Long before CSR was in most company’s business plans, Comtec had a policy of giving back to the community on a wide range of issues. We called it responsible working back then! Over the years we have elevated our community objectives into a board level strategy of its own. Not only do we carry out charity activities that enable us to achieve monthly donations, but have also developed a partnership with many of our larger clients where we donate a portion of our profit on an event to a mutually agreed charity.

However our CSR policy does not just extend to charity work. We have an employee policy which ensures that we protect our employees and continue to invest in them as well as a comprehensive Environmental Policy which has seen us reduce our carbon emissions by 22% since the end of 2008.

Personnel Development

Our teams are the most important asset we have. As such since our inception 28 years ago, Comtec has lead the way in investing heavily in our staff both with a portion of each years budget being allocated to external training. Our staff are awesome, but we constantly encourage them to be better and push the boundaries.

As a result our teams demonstrate an exemplary level of confidence when managing and producing events, and it shows. As a single source solutions provider, we guarantee to our clients a solution to any challenge, be it sourcing an alternative venue 48 hours before the live event or accommodating for additional presentations 15 minutes before an event goes live!

Quality Management

As part of Comtec’s commitment to quality, we have worked tirelessly towards gaining our first quality accreditation. Given the fact that our work is not just UK based, we decided in 2009 that our quality management system should be based on a European led basis.

Our quality improvements made under the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) model has already yielded improvements. Having streamlined our processes internally has seen us make dramatic financial savings which have in turn enabled us to hold our prices for our clients, making us the only cost effective solution.

Financial Management

Whilst we have seen our competitors reduce in numbers as a result of the last recession, Comtec has demonstrated its financial stability as we continue to strengthen our foothold in the industry despite the very harsh trading conditions that the UK has been experiencing. Our financial stability stems from implementing processes that ensure that we can mitigate any risk of financial exposure.

The same tight budgets that we run internally are used externally on behalf of our clients. We are driven to ensuring that our clients know at each of the key project milestones the actual Vs budget status. This ensures that there are no financial surprises …. Ever and gives our clients the confidence that we are responsibly managing their money.
